News ArchiveEU Project “Education for Tolerance” continues its work![]() On March12, experts from ALPE Foundation, the Public Defender’s Office and the Georgian Public Broadcaster met local teachers and Board of Trustees members in the Resource Centre in Akhalkhalaki. Tolerance as a civic education subject in public schools was discussed. The teachers and BoT members highlighted problems with civic education textbooks, particularly in Russian and Armenian language schools. A similar meeting took place in Kvemo Kartli, where teachers and BoT members stressed the need to expand programmes dealing with ethnic issues. Participants at both meetings said that planning was required if the increased demand to learn the state language were to be met. |
