Conference at Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia

On 7-8 April ALPE and Civic Integration Foundations held a conference at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.  The conference was specifically for non-Georgian language journalists, and had many from Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe Javakheti in attendance.

As Minister Gia Nodia and Deputy Minister Ana Jvania underlined, the role of regional media is fundamental to on-going educational reforms.

ALPE used the occasion to put the local journalists in attendance into contact with the Information Department of the Georgian Public Broadcaster. Radio and TV features were created as a result. The journalists also wrote newspaper articles aimed at giving the youth of Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe Javakheti more information on education opportunities.
