Let us Build our School

From June 2003 until present, under the Civil Advocate Program (CAP) and with the financial support of Save the Children and USAID, ALPE has been leading the project "Let's Build Our School" implementing educational reforms in secondary schools of Georgia .

The project is presently carried out by the coalition of ALPE and Liberty Institute with the previous involvement of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy.

The goal of the project is to establish democratic values and more open and efficient management principles in secondary schools of Georgia and develop schools into strong autonomous units.

The project aims to promote self-governance and civil involvement in the decision-making process, as well as raise responsibility level of school administration towards society at large. We would also like to encourage presentation of new legislative initiatives and share international experience with target groups. More specifically, the project envisions to support conducting elections of school board of trustees, organize trainings for school administrations and members of elected board of trustees, establish legal clinic, and publish information brochures and guidebooks.
