Promoting Education for Tolerance - PET

ALPE Foundation has honor to introduce its new EC funded project “Fostering Integration Through Education and Culture of Tolerance”.

The project got its brand name “PET - Promoting Education for Tolerance” that will be used in all our project activities.

The aims of our new project corresponds with the declared priorities of the European union in general and particularly in our case are to integrate ethnic and linguistic minorities in Georgia into the wider civil society, create a space for tolerance and mutual understanding, and maintain support for a sustainable democratic area in the state. Gender inclusion is also a priority. Education and freedom of expression are the key areas of concern.

The various actions are and will be implemented to achieve our objectives including intensive cooperation with the secondary education schools, teachers, parents, Board of Trustees of schools, local and nationwide media sources and the civic organisations.

One of the main intentions of PET is to facilitate communication and dialogue among school children of different ethnic and religious backgrounds. For this particular mission we have designed a programme that is aiming popularization of the use of benefits of the Internet world possibilities through establishment of community of modern trend of bloggers. The website designed to implement our plans www.pet-blogger.com offers a unique and exciting way of doing this. It will help young people living in Georgia’s different regions to form bonds, get to know one another and exchanging their views, ideas and even photos. Every user will be able to make his/her own page, with an individual style, design and content.
